About James T. Doss Jr.
Dr. James T. Doss, Jr. specializes in cataract and refractive surgery at University Eye Specialists, which he joined in 2010. He grew up on a farm in South Georgia, graduated from the University of Georgia, and attended Mercer University School of Medicine before completing an internship at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. After finishing his ophthalmology residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2008 and becoming board certified in 2009, he practiced two years in Boone, North Carolina before returning to Knoxville. He has served as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Surgery, Section of Ophthalmology at the University of Tennessee Medical Center since 2010.
