About Hylton Mayer

Hylton Mayer, MD is an ophthalmologist, cataract surgeon, and fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist who has practiced at Eye Doctors of Washington since 2010. He was formerly an assistant professor at Yale University School of Medicine, where he directed the cataract surgery section and the glaucoma fellowship program. He is the medical director of the Palisades Eye Surgery Center, a past president of the Washington DC Ophthalmology Society, and a team eye doctor for the Washington Capitals and DC United. He was the first surgeon in Washington DC to perform the iStent minimally invasive glaucoma procedure.
