About Dr. Durrell Handwerger

Dr. Durrell Handwerger, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, APHN-BC is the founder of South Florida Integrative Health Center in Miami Beach and a doubly board-certified nurse practitioner with more than 30 years of experience across functional and conventional medicine. He is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and as a Holistic Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Holistic Nurses Credentialing Corporation. His practice centers on root-cause functional medicine, nutrition as medicine, and gut and brain health, and he has researched the Mediterranean diet's impact on diabetes reversal. He is a member of the Institute for Functional Medicine and the American Academy for Anti-Aging Medicine.
