About Drew D. Munro

Drew D. Munro, M.D. is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist at Commonwealth Eye Care Associates, serving patients in the Richmond, Virginia area. He specializes in comprehensive consultative services, blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), oculoplastic consultation and surgery, and orbital and reconstructive consultation and surgery. His professional interests include the evolution of aesthetic and reconstructive surgical techniques as well as diseases of the eyelids such as ocular cicatricial pemphigoid, and his research has produced a number of journal publications and presentations at national meetings. Dr. Munro attended the University of Virginia, received his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine, completed an internal medicine internship at Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems, and returned to Duke for his ophthalmology residency and a fellowship in oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery that included rotations at the Duke Aesthetic Center and Oxford University with a focus on cosmetic facial plastic surgery techniques. He also serves as a flight surgeon with the Virginia Army National Guard.
