About Danielle Douglas
Danielle J. Douglas, MD, FMCP-M, MSCP is the sole physician of La Jolla Functional Medicine Clinic in La Jolla, California. Her career in medicine began at 16, driving ambulances and delivering babies for a volunteer first responder organisation; she went on to a BA in Biology and Society from Cornell University and a medical degree from the University of Connecticut. She completed her residency at UCSD and is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, and she continues to practise at Sharp Grossmont Hospital caring for acutely ill and underserved patients. She trained in functional medicine through the Institute for Functional Medicine and the Dan Kalish Institute, and is a certified menopause practitioner with The Menopause Society. She has published research on estrogen and traumatic brain injury and on high-altitude medicine, and has served as a medical consultant for NBC News San Diego and KPBS.
