About Christopher Shelby
Dr. Christopher Shelby was the first surgeon in Louisiana to be certified using the LenSx femtosecond laser for cataract surgery. He earned his medical degree from LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport, where he also served his internship and residency. After establishing himself as a leader in eye care, he opened the Willis Knighton Eye Institute. He co-designed the IExaminer, an FDA-approved mobile retinal imaging device licensed by Welch-Allyn, and provides LenSx femtosecond laser training to fellow ophthalmologists. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
