About Betsy Kantor
Betsy Kantor, MD practices functional medicine at Arizona Wellness Medicine in Paradise Valley, Arizona. She is board certified in both anesthesiology and pediatrics and is an Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner, with additional training in nutrigenomic analysis, environmental medicine, Cogence Immunology and Root Cause Protocol mineral balancing. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of California Santa Cruz in 1979 and attended the University of Kansas Medical School in her hometown of Kansas City. She completed residency training at the University of California Davis Medical Center, first in pediatrics — including a final year in pediatric pulmonary and critical care — and then in anesthesiology, finishing in 1993. She joined UC Davis as an assistant clinical professor of anesthesia, practicing both pediatric and adult anesthesia and teaching residents and medical students, before moving to private anesthesia practice in Phoenix in 2003.
