About Alison Percowycz

Alison Percowycz is a family nurse practitioner and the founder of Well North Functional Medicine in Denver, Colorado, which she started in 2022 under the name Wild Rice Wellness. She spent the first fifteen years of her career in academic medicine, beginning at Georgetown University Hospital in the Neuro ICU, where she came to see chronic disease as what landed most patients in the hospital. She trained at George Washington University to become a family nurse practitioner and then held a clinical faculty position at the University of Colorado focused on migraine and chronic pain for nearly a decade. In 2020 she began studying at the Institute for Functional Medicine and was certified in 2023, with further training through the American Academy for Anti-Aging Medicine and several hormone-focused clinician mentorships. Her clinical focus is women in pregnancy and postpartum, perimenopause and menopause hormone care, and endurance athletes; she is a longtime runner who has raced distances from 5Ks to ultramarathons.
