About Alexander T. Augoustides
Alexander T. Augoustides, MD, ABIHM, FAAFP practises integrative holistic medicine at Piedmont Integrative Medicine, PA in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He earned his medical degree from the University of Cape Town Medical School in South Africa in 1985, completed his Family Medicine residency at Marshall University in West Virginia where he served as chief resident, and finished a Family Medicine fellowship at East Tennessee State University. He practised as a conventional family physician until 2001 and sat for the board exam in Integrative Holistic Medicine in 2002; in 2004 he took over Dr. Walter A. Ward's Carolina Contemporary Medicine, PA, founded in 1984, which became Piedmont Integrative Medicine. He treats a wide range of concerns with a stated focus on women over 35 with complex thyroid, adrenal and hormonal issues, using his proprietary 7 Keys Method. He is the author of What Healing Means To Me and a founding member of the North Carolina Integrative Medical Society.
