About Adam G. Buchanan
Adam G. Buchanan, M.D. is an oculofacial plastic surgeon at Ophthalmic Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery serving St. Louis and St. Peters, MO. Following a surgical internship at Madigan Army Medical Center, he served two years as a flight surgeon in Germany and Kosovo, then completed his ophthalmology residency at Madigan and worked as a comprehensive ophthalmologist at Fort Campbell, KY and Bagram, Afghanistan. He completed the Saint Louis Combined Oculofacial Plastic Surgery fellowship under John Holds, MD and Philip Custer, MD, then returned to teach residents until his retirement from the Army as a Colonel in 2018. As an oculoplastic surgeon he specializes in surgery of the eyelids, orbits, and lacrimal system, and he serves as an examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology. He has published works in peer-reviewed journals and textbooks on eyelid surgery, socket reconstruction and ophthalmic trauma management.
