Dr. Coviello was born in Columbus, Ohio and grew up in Silver Spring Maryland. He received his undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology & Genetics from the University of Maryland. He was then granted fellowship from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to conduct research at the National Center for Human Genome Research, NIH. His Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree is from the University of Maryland. This was followed by a General Practice Residency at the VA in Baltimore. He then went to the University of Miami Medical School for residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. While there he was a Chief Resident and was granted the Professor s Cup as the most outstanding resident of his class. He had the privilege of studying under the world-renowned Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon Dr. Robert Marx, who has remarkably pioneered many of the cutting-edge techniques used by oral surgeons today. They were referred to difficult cases from all over the world, one of which was shown on the Discovery Channel (
