About Tucker Dental: James Y. Kim DMD

Dr. James Kim was born in Taegu, South Korea. When he was two months old his family moved to Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Kim has always enjoyed working with his hands, and as a teenager his hobbies included building model airplanes and origami, the Asian art of folding paper. His dream of becoming a dentist was born when, as a high school student, he visited a friend’s father’s practice and saw the positive impact dentistry made in people’s lives. Dentistry, he decided, was “right down his alley,” allowing him to exercise his technical skill while helping others. Dr. Kim completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology at Emory University in 1992, continuing on to Temple University School of Dentistry to attain his DMD Degree in 1996. He continues to expand his education within his field, not only out of a commitment to excellent care, but also out of a true passion for the practice of dentistry.
