She grew up in India. Dr. Mathew discovered her love for dentistry at the age of 6 years old. She pursued and completed her dental education in India. Later, she got married and followed her husband to the U.S., planning to continue her dental aspirations in the states. To her dismay, she discovered that her educational credits did not transfer, forcing her to start her journey through dental school all over again. Though her dream was questioned by well-meaning loved ones, she continued to pursue what she knew to be her calling. Her hard work and dedication paid off when she was accepted into NYU. She is incredibly grateful for the support of her husband, who continued to write her letters and bring her home-made gifts and treats when he visited her every few weeks from Ohio. Dr. Mathew graduated with honors from NYU. But, she had this strong desire to further her skill set to help patients with a variety of complex needs.
