We use modern technology to improve diagnosis, planning, and comfort — but our care always stays personal. Dr. Mia Pham Sanchez de Lozada was born in Vietnam. At the age of nine, she and her brother fled the country to escape communism. After a year in a refugee camp in the Philippines, they eventually made their way to the United States, where they were taken in by foster parents. Dr. Mia went on to study biomedical engineering on a full academic scholarship, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She was part of the founding class of the School of Engineering at Virginia Commonwealth University and bec
