About RIVERPARK DENTISTRY - DR. SHELBY P. LAPIAD, DDS

Dr. Lapiad was born in Camarillo and raised in Oxnard, where her family still resides. She graduated from the University of California, Irvine and obtained dual bachelor’s degrees in Biochemistry and in Chemistry. She earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree (D.D.S.) from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Dentistry with high academic and clinical merit. At UCLA, she received various dental awards and scholarships including the Excellence in Clinical Fixed Prosthodontics, which is an award for excellent crown and bridge dental work in the dental clinic. She also became a member of the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society, which only accepts the top of the dental school class. She then completed a competitive one-year General Practice Residency (GPR) Program at the VA Long Beach Medical Center’s Dental Clinic, where she had the privilege of providing dental care to military veterans while receiving advanced dental training in implant placem
