Dr. Jorge Mercado , the team, and how we approach biological dentistry in Orlando. When Dr. Mercado opened Natural Smiles of Orlando, the goal was simple: practice dentistry the way he wanted it practiced for his own family. That meant rethinking materials, protocols, and what gets put in someone s body during a routine appointment. Five things shape how we work: mercury-free materials, biocompatible composites, careful air and water filtration, longer appointments than rushed dentistry allows, and a clinic that takes environmental waste seriously. The practice operates out of the former Shine Dental Studios space in downtown Orlando. We kept the equipment that was still in good shape and upgraded the rest to be more energy-efficient. A biological practice that fills landfills with functional dental gear has missed the point.
