About Modern Family Dental

Dr. Song, known as “Dr. Yub” to his patients, first had the inspiration to enter the field of dentistry as a teen, when he was told of his childhood story. When he was only three or four years old, his dentist said they would have to extract all of his baby teeth due to decay. Being shocked and scared, his family decided to get a second opinion where the dentist suggested an alternative treatment plan that took the patient s age and anxiety into consideration. He was able to tolerate the new treatment plan and thanks to that, has healthy teeth up to today. This experience inspired Dr. Song to become a dentist so that he can follow a similar path, helping patients’ individual needs. Realizing how people fear going to the dentist, Dr. Song s focus is to make the experience more patient-friendly and comfortable. Dr. Song attended SUNY Binghamton, where he majored in Mathematical Science and pre-dental studies. Afterwards, he went to New York University College of Dentistry for his Doctora
