About Matthew Shawl, MD

Matthew W. Shawl, MD, is a board-certified otolaryngologist and facial plastic surgery specialist in Manhattan with an office located in Union Square. Dr. Shawl takes a personal approach to patient care, taking the time necessary to listen to his New York City patients’ needs so he can provide the most effective and attentive care. He also values his patient’s time and never overbooks, so his patients don’t have to wait. After earning a Bachelor of Science in economics from the prestigious Wharton School of Business in Philadelphia, Dr. Shawl relocated to New Orleans to enter a combined degree program. He earned a Master in Public Health at Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and a Doctor of Medicine at Tulane University School of Medicine. Dr. Shawl then completed a general surgery internship at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York City, before completing his otolaryngology - head and neck surgery residency at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, also in New York
