Dr. Kaur s decision to pursue dentistry was spurred on by a traumatic event. When she was just ten years old, her grandparents were in a fatal car accident. The only one to survive was her grandmother, who suffered great injuries including a broken jaw. Her grandmother was forced to have her jaw wired shut for over six months. The young Harveer watched helplessly as her grandmother couldn t eat and couldn t smile. Though she missed her grandmother s smile tremendously, it was watching her grandmother suffer which was hardest to take. This experiences ignited a passion for her to help others with their dental needs. It s that passion along with the belief that her purpose is to improve people s lives that bring her to work each day with a positive attitude. She believes in conservative dentistry, which means saving as much tooth structure as possible. She ll never do an unnecessary extraction.
