He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology for Medical Sciences from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. He then attended Southern Illinois University, School of Dental Medicine, where he obtained a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree. Dr. Anast moved to Chicago after graduating from dental school and practiced as an associate for several years before purchasing Kimberly Smiles in December 2011.
