Dr. Hernandez was born and raised in Brownsville and has been practicing General Dentistry in Brownsville since 1979. He graduated from St. Joseph Academy in 1972 and went to Texas Southmost College and then on to the University of Texas in Austin. He graduated from the University of Texas Dental School at San Antonio in 1979 and is a member of the American Dental Association. He has served his community by sitting on boards with the Brownsville Community Health Clinic, Brownsville Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Brownsville, St. Joseph Academy, United Way of Brownsville and the Valley Zoological Society. He began a Customized Athletic Mouthguard program for the Brownsville Independent School District in 1981, where he makes 25-30 mouthguards for each of the 7 high schools in Brownsville.
