About Ed Dye Family Dentistry

Dr. Ed Dye has wanted to be a dentist. At the age of 4 he had a fall that required emergency dental care due to a fractured tooth. He received excellent care and from that point he knew, “I am going to be a dentist!” Dr Dye grew up in Cedar Rapids where he earned his Eagle Scout with Troop 24 and graduated from Jefferson High School. He then went to Cornell College in 2004 to study for his undergraduate degree in biology. He was a member of the Cornell Rams basketball team while he was there. Dr. Dye’s education journey kept moving when he was accepted into the University of Iowa College of Dentistry where he graduated in 2008 with his Doctor of Dental Surgery. He was recruited to Ottumwa, Iowa right out of graduating dental school to join River Hills Community Health Center dental providers. After more than 8 years of serving patients in Ottumwa, IA.
