He earned his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, completed an ophthalmology residency at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, and trained in oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery at Massachusetts Eye and Ear/Harvard Medical School, where he later served as a clinical instructor.
