Dr. Amy Garcia is a New Mexico native who has dedicated her career to bringing advanced gynecologic care back to her home state. She earned both her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of New Mexico—a foundation that reflects her deep roots in and commitment to the community she serves. Dr. Garcia completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), where she honed her skills in comprehensive women s health. Recognizing her passion for precision and patient-centered care, she pursued additional training and became one of the country s first graduates of the Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS) fellowship—a highly specialized program. Since 2003, Dr. Garcia has been in private practice, and today she is New Mexico s only fellowship-trained MIGS gynecologist practicing in private practice.
