About Dentistry Downtown

Dr. Lucy Thom Howell is proud to serve the North Alabama community she has always called home. She grew up in Brownsboro and graduated from Huntsville High School before earning her Bachelors degree in Chemistry from the University of Alabama. During her time there, she played flute in various concert ensembles and served as a piccolo section leader in the Million Dollar Band. She went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry. Dr. Thom is passionate about helping patients achieve and maintain healthy smiles through preventative care and education. She believes that informed patients are empowered patients and is committed to creating a comfortable, welcoming environment where individuals feel confident in their care. In 2024, Dr. Thom married her husband, Chase Howell, at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity in downtown Huntsville. Chase, the son of Dr. Rebecca Howell, is a mechanical engineer at Leidos. In his
