After finishing college at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, he moved to Birmingham, AL to pursue his dental education at the UAB School of Dentistry. He graduated from the UAB School of Dentistry in 1982 and then moved back home to Gadsden to open his dental practice on South 3rd Street.
