After graduating from UCSD, I pursued a career in research and co-authored over 10 scientific articles during my affiliations with the prestigious Scripps Research Institute and Stanford University . After almost a decade of working in research, my interest in dentistry began when I needed an emergency root canal. The dental care I received brought back memories of when I helped run a free medical clinic in Ensenada, Mexico for 2 years. My experience receiving immediate relief of dental pain, reminded me of my initial passions for helping people and developing meaningful patient relationships.
