A graduate of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry (DDS, 1983), she also earned her B.A. in Psychology from the same university in 1979. Her extensive career includes private practice experience and over three decades in the public sector with the City of Detroit Health Department, Oakland County Health Department, and Ionia Correctional Facility.
