In 2021, we recognized a growing need for alternative ways for Alaskans to take charge of their health. One of the unexpected gifts of the pandemic was the widespread realization that each person is their own best health advocate. Amidst so much uncertainty, we set out to create a place where individuals could strengthen their health, build resilience, and restore confidence in the body’s innate ability to heal. The Wellness Lounge was founded with a vision to create a different kind of healthcare experience—one that combined high quality, individualized care with an environment that felt calming, restorative, and approachable. That vision began long before the clinic itself existed. Holly Luiken, became fascinated with the human body and health at a young age.
