After graduating from the University of Central Arkansas with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN), Christie began her journey in the medical field working as an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nurse. She went on to earn a Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) in Nurse Anesthesia and Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) degrees from Arkansas State University. As an anesthesia provider, she gained and demonstrated valuable skills including epidurals, spinals, multiple regional blocks, and invasive line insertion, all requiring extensive knowledge of anatomy. After practicing anesthesia in both central and northeast Arkansas for several years, Christie was recruited to be the Assistant Program Director for the Arkansas State University MSN Nurse Anesthesia Program, where she earned her graduate and post-graduate degrees.
