Welcome to Affordable Beauty ! I am Dr. Junith M. Thompson, M.D. I was born in Haiti, West Indies. Third of seven children. My parents were educators and instilled in us the importance of education. We moved to the US in my last year of junior high school. At the time fluent in French only. I had to learn English rather quickly in my English as a second language (ESL) curriculum classes. By my first year in high school, I was proficient enough in English to help other students in (ESL) Homework helpers program. In high school, I was motivated to learn, and with one of my good friends, Maritza, who is now a pediatrician in NY City, I always dreamed of a career in medicine. After college, I attended medical school at the Medical College of WI. I decided to do my residency training in NY to be close to family members in order to get help with my first two children, Lydia and Julie, who were born in the first two years of medical school.
